
When
he was 15 years old, the native of São Paulo Roberto Goncalves looked
a professor of classic guitar almost placed end to its dream of being musician.
His teacher said that it had a problem in hand that he could not play guitar.
Shortly afterwards, he noticed that had no problem. That made his will to
increase. He was not a good student, he was a little lazy, but had his dreams.
In the year of 1983 Roberto Goncalves, formed a jazz band called Saturn 5.
The band adhered to the rock, incorporating a vocalist changing the name for
Doce Delirio. This band opened for Paralamas of Sucesso and Titas besides
playing in the best clubs in Sao Paulo. He went to army and after and the
College of Comunicacao Makenzic, where he studied for three years. He didn't
want to have to work in advertising agencies", it said, explaining so
he dropped out of college but had a good reason. Oscar, that was vocalist
of the band Taxi Radio, invited it to open a recording studio doing jingles,
spots for radio and TV. In 1989 they had decided He decided to for a record

Roberto also played with artists as Eduardo Dusek, Luiz Ayrao with Martha
Rhaulin, a Brazilian singer married with the former Menudo singer, Roy. Roberto
decided move to Atlanta, where he attended the Atlanta Institute of Music
and formed the Band Tropicus 22 with Marcelo Camera, e Vlamir Abbud (today
bass player of Rua 6) and the American Lee Venters. This was the first Brazilian
band of Atlanta. Marcelo came back to Brazil c Roberto Goncalves and Vlamir
joined Andre to form the band Transient Groove, later calling changed the
name to Rua 6. Parallel, Robert continued with Tropicus 22 band, that it played
with Eliana Pitman, made the opening of shows of Djavan and participated of
the Atlanta Jazz Festival in 2000 and 2001. Also in 2001, he opened for Jair
Rodrigues in Atlanta. When, he came back to Brazil, he was invited to play
in the Bananeira Band with which traveled to Monaco, where played for two
months. Later he played in Portugal and Spain. Roberto Goncalves currently
produces a CD for the jazz singer Valerie Hines and another one for Salsa
band Serenata and plans to record a compact disc of his own material by the
end of this year. My influences are Santana, Chico Buarque and Djavan. I am
searching I want to make a mix of Brazilian music and electronic music. Says
